At Villager Homes we are finding ourselves in an unusual position; we have a lot more buyers than we do houses. Now, here’s our prediction – there will be a flurry of houses that come on the market as we approach Christmas. Want to know our tip? New properties attract interest, especially when compared to the same old Cambridgeshire houses you see day after day on Rightmove. At Villager Homes, one of the first questions we are asked by potential buyers is ‘how long has it been on the market?’. It is the typical attitude we have instilled in us from a young age, an instinct if you like – if nobody else wants it, neither do I.

Now it’s a well-known fact that a property is likely to sell within the first two to three weeks of marketing. This is when the buzz wraps around your property, often leading to a price increase as buyers fight tooth and nail to get your home.
